Abstract
This paper was constructed as a response to a growing number of requests and inquiries in Breakthrough’s market,
namely, technology companies in Chicago, about the place Salesforce and other cloud computing models have on
application development.
In this initial discussion, we shall discuss two sides of the Salesforce architecture. Salesforce, the CRM business
application and Force.com, the platform that allows developers to develop custom applications on the same
infrastructure that Salesforce.com is deployed on.
