EqualLogic designed the PeerStorage architecture to eclipse the traditional "cluster" architectures by extending the number of physical systems to up to 32, having each system being redundant and hot serviceable, while still being managed as one logical system. The resources of the PeerStorage arrays (i.e. host ports, processors, cache memory and disk drives) are aggregated for an extremely scalable solution. The impact on simplifying management and lowering systems cost can be substantial enabling customers to do much more for much less.
