Case Study: ETL Design Pattern Implementation

An Applied Technology Solutions Case Study

This project for a large hospitality group entailed creating a metadata driven pattern architecture that would facilitate the implementation of the ETL design patterns. This would help facilitate agility, reuse and support cost cutting, and support application development needs enterprise-wide.

The solution provided immediate benefits to project development costs. From a business perspective, this is significant because the cost of ETL applications and reporting is fairly high. The agility made it more attractive to business groups as support costs for changing requirements were reduced.

Platform architecture featured a Very Large Database (VLDB) housing relational data warehouses that contained information about reward program members, sales goals analysis, sales reporting, customer email and telephony systems.
