Vendor Access Control:
A Standardized Methodology to Securely Manage and Control 3rd Party IT Administrators

An Xceedium Whitepaper

Abstract
Third party IT operations personnel and application developers, require flexible access to the network and sensitive business applications. As companies outsource, it becomes harder to manage these users.  Organizations require a new standardized security model that differs from the one used for end users accessing applications. End user access tools or custom solutions fall short when applied to IT administrators. To contain and control these skilled users, a standardized security model must include: compartmentalization, violations control, and the ability to audit and report all activities by the individual and all the devices and systems for accountability purposes.
