Abstract
Suzlon is an innovative leader in the wind energy industry, ranking 5th in global market share for this
exploding industry. The company manufactures and assembles wind farms globally and currently
employs 14,000 people worldwide, including 500 people in the United States.
Suzlon came to Risetime looking for assistance in upgrading their existing Microsoft SharePoint
implementation (Windows SharePoint Services 3.0) to SharePoint 2007 in an effort to increase
company efficiency and keep pace with their rapid expansion. In addition, Suzlon struggled with
challenges distributing and collecting critical information from a large labor force spread across the
country at multiple wind farm job sites with limited bandwidth and connectivity.
The resulting benefits included up to the minute project reporting, and a six figure cost savings.
