Improving Business Processes through Outsourcing

A Savvion White Paper

www.savvion.com

Abstract
According to a recent Information Week survey of key IT priorities, 67% of those surveyed responded that optimizing business processes was a critical focus for their company in 2006. So how are companies optimizing business processes and driving efficiencies? If they haven’t already, most companies are implementing business process management (BPM) software to manage and control the lifecycle of key processes. The best BPM software gives employees the ability to collaborate on and control critical business processes, thereby automating the processes and making them repeatable.

But even companies that have found success in streamlining key business processes in-house are discovering that optimization only goes so far. The best-understood and most well-defined process can only be driven to a certain level of efficiency before the results flatten out—or even diminish. That’s where the promise of business process outsourcing (BPO) comes in.
