Abstract

In both Robert Half Technology's research and everyday interactions with hiring managers and applicants, there is real evidence that the IT job market is increasingly being driven by the candidates themselves, though employers remain selective about whom they bring on board. CIOs and other IT hiring managers must acknowledge this shift, and modify their hiring and retention strategies accordingly.

Attracting employees is only half the battle -- companies must also worry about retaining them. Now that the job market has picked up, IT workers no longer believe they must stay put no matter what.
