Abstract
Sophisticated facial recognition technology such as FastAccess supports both user validation and system security. As a user gets in front of a computer, a camera instantly analyzes their individual facial landmarks and compares it to its database of approved “facial passwords”. If there is a match, access is quickly granted to the computer, as well as to any software programs set up to accept this unique identifier. But just as important for security purposes, the system continuously monitors the face in front of the computer and automatically disables the computer when the user steps away. So unlike most authentication systems, security is assured at both the initiation and conclusion of the user’s interaction with their computer system.
