Dr. Bamshad Mobasher, Professor of Computer Science and the Director of the Center for Web Intelligence at DePaul University College of Computing and Digital Media in Chicago

Dr. Bamshad Mobasher, Professor of Computer Science and the Director of the Center for Web Intelligence at DePaul University College of Computing and Digital Media in Chicago

He is also the co-founder and the director of the Center for Data Mining and Predictive Analytics at DePaul University. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science at Iowa State University in 1994. His general research areas include artificial intelligence and data mining, and in particular, he is considered one of the leading authorities in Web mining, Web personalization, and recommender systems. He has published 5 edited books, numerous book chapters, and over 150 scientific articles in these areas. As the director of the Center for Web Intelligence, he directs research in these areas and regularly works with the industry on various joint projects involving data mining, Web analytics, and predictive modeling.

 

Parthiv Sheth, Director of Business Intelligence at Hyatt Hotels Corp., leads efforts to build and improve analytics, business intelligence and customer relationship management capabilities. He is an executive with global IT management and consulting experience. He started his career at KPMG where he focused on delivering business and technology solutions to Fortune 500 clients like General Electric, Johnson & Johnson and Symantec. Prior to joining Hyatt, he led the business systems department at a home improvement retailer. In his prior roles at Hyatt, he oversaw a portfolio of corporate systems catering finance, HR, procurement and other departments. He holds an MBA degree from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University and a Master's degree in computer science from the University of Illinois.


Chuck Jacobs, VP - Technology Strategy & PMO, MorningStar

Chuck Jacobs, VP - Technology Strategy & PMO, MorningStar works in the office of the CTO and is responsible for planning and executing global technology initiatives.  Morningstar is midway through a multi-year re-platforming initiative moving legacy products and data systems to private cloud and a global data warehouse. Morningstar empowers investors with illuminating data, research, analytics, and design.  Prior to joining Morningstar, Mr. Jacobs worked at Nielsen, responsible for Service Delivery and Operations of Nielsen’s flagship data analytics product.  He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.
