Agenda

Session I. The Challenges and Opportunities of Digital Transformation

Statistically, IT departments spend roughly 80% of their budget on maintaining existing systems. With business executives still expecting agility and new solutions, IT must maximize the remaining 20%. Mid-market companies have the same digital transformation aspirations as large companies. Since they have smaller budgets and fewer resources to get it done, there is less room for error. Learn how emerging technologies are influencing where mid-market companies invest their IT dollars to fast-track their digital business.

Grant Smith, Director of Sales, Tools and Solutions, Americas, LANSA

Grant Smith, Director of Sales, Tools and Solutions, Americas, LANSA

Grant has over 20 years of experience in the technology marketplace both here in the US and abroad − working with hundreds of companies to assist them in gaining real business value from their software investments.  Grant is a regular speaker at technology events around the country.

Session II. The New Enterprise Cloud

Traditional monitoring is dead. The new enterprise cloud requires software intelligence. Enterprise cloud is the platform for digital transformation. However, the aspects of cloud that make it ideal for driving transformation “ the agility, dynamic nature, scalability, and flexibility“ make it more complex to manage and monitor. The old approaches will no longer work. A fundamentally new approach is required, with automation and AI at the core. In this session, learn about a new generation of monitoring, aka software intelligence, designed to meet the needs of the new enterprise cloud.

Rich Bentley – Product Marketing Director, Dynatrace

Rich Bentley is senior director of product marketing at Dynatrace. He has been working in the IT management space for over 20 years, starting as a developer and systems engineer, then moving into product marketing after getting his MBA from the University of Michigan. He lives in the Ann Arbor, Michigan area with his wife, two kids and two dogs

Session III: Trusting New Tech: Is Blockchain ready for your Business?

Blockchain promises major advances in data sharing, security, and overall business collaboration. But still in its early stages, it may not be the best tech for you. In this presentation we’ll explore how to know if blockchain is a good fit for your business, its possible benefits, and the technology’s maturity and lifecycle – so you’ll be ready when the time comes to bet on blockchain.
Kevin McMahon, Executive Director of Emerging Technologies , SPR

As the Executive Director of Emerging Technologies at SPR, I lead a team that bring an agile, pragmatic, and experienced approach to crafting enterprise solutions utilizing the latest technologies and techniques. I’m a hands-off manager— my management style is to establish objectives and vision for the team and enable teammates to turn those thoughts into action. I have a knack for solving problems and enjoy creating and acquiring skills for both professional and personal pursuits. With extensive experience building custom native iOS and Android mobile applications, Java and .NET based backend systems, I am constantly on the hunt for the big tool or technology. At work, I strive to understand the big picture all the way down to the little details so as to better understand the problems and what it is that we need to do to make projects successful.
