When failures become systemic, regulation isn't far behind. As current events continue to drive stronger and stronger regulations it appears that the security breaches only continue. In recent months we've learned of a significant penetration of the power grid, loss of our most highly protected weapons designs including designs of the Presidential helicopter and the loss of terabytes of data on the F 35 stealth fighter. We can add to this the ongoing loss of millions of financial records every month.

The growth of Governance, Risk Management and Compliance (GRC) as a unique industry segment speaks to the importance of these issues and it reflects the most important change in the new regulatory environment - risk and compliance can no longer be segregated from the governance process itself. They're all connected.
Governance requires that management know it's risk exposures and we can expect it to be central to many new regulations. No more CEOs testifying to congress that they just didn't know and it's not their fault. It's their job to know - and this is the direction of many new regulations.

This leaves companies highly exposed to the modern bot attack that compromises weak links in an enterprise and uses these cracks to advance to the most prized and protected systems. Simply put, all critical assets require a lock-down system now, which is capable of preventing system exploits and able to log and report all such attempts at the instant they arise.

Join IP3's CEO, Ken Kousky as he presents their latest research and strategy for hardening your weakest links.

Feb 11, 2009 Closing the Data Privacy Gap
Cynthia Babb, IBM Optim Cynthia Babb, ERP Manager, IBM Optim
Data protection and privacy continue to be a tremendous focus and risk for the IT community today. While companies are making great strides to protect data privacy in production application environments, the often untold story of implementing similar strategies in non-production (testing, development and training) environments is often overlooked. Bridging this "privacy gap" helps companies protect the most exploited areas of an organization's IT infrastructure - non-production application environments.
