Session I. Keynote Presentation: A Proven Framework for the Successful Introduction of Emerging Technologies

NVISIA shares their proven framework for the successful assimilation of emerging technologies into a wide variety of enterprise situations. Over the past 26 years NVISIA has leveraged this framework to introduce a long list of key enterprise technologies including Java, .NET, JavaScript frameworks, REST and microservices. We will open with a brief overview of the framework’s three cornerstones ADOPT, BUILD & ENABLE. We will discuss the common entry points to each area and describe the interplay between each of these three key pillars. Finally, we will share some real framework samples using two hot emerging technologies in the enterprise: API Management and Containers (Docker).

    Aaron Shaver, Vice President & Chief Technology Officer, US Signal Company

    Aaron Shaver, Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, leads US Signal’s long-term technology vision, and is responsible for strategic customer partnerships, university collaboration, industry thought leadership and advanced technical solutions.
    Prior to joining US Signal, Aaron served as the Executive Director of Information Management for Spectrum Pennock Health Services. He has also lead research and development for US Signal, establishing the MPLS, Carrier Ethernet and Cloud practices.  Aaron has a 20-year background in telecommunications, data center design and information security.
    Aaron holds a doctorate in information assurance and computer science and a Master of Science in Information Security.  His research focused on enterprise disaster recovery and mitigation.​

    Mike Koleno, CTO, Solstice

    Mike is a CTO at Solstice, a digital innovation firm. In this role, Mike leads the Solstice Cloud Native and Modern Software Engineering practice areas as well as the full stack development efforts across a wide-ranging set of clients including Rockwell Automation, Northern Trust, Country Financial, Kohler and more. Prior to joining Solstice, Mike spent over eight years at JPMorgan Chase in various application development and architecture roles across the bank's Treasury & Security Services, Card and Corporate Technology lines of business. When he isn't thinking about technology, Mike is spending as much time as he can with his wife and their three wonderful children.

We will illustrate how best in class emerging technologies can provide a seamless customer experience across any channel, utilizing all relevant information and context to deliver a unique, personalized and enduring engagement across the customer’s entire journey.

    Kim Leffler, Consulting Solutions Engineer, Avaya

    As a member of Avaya’s newly formed Digital Engagement Team, Kim provides business strategy, design and application expertise for Avaya customers and business partners. With Customer Experience, Unified Communications and Team Engagement as core priorities for the next-generation digital enterprise, she helps clients evaluate how to evolve their networks to SIP and take advantage of applications that will deliver the biggest benefit to key end-user profiles. With the introduction of Avaya Breeze, Kim is taking over a lead role in helping customers identify business processes that can be enhanced with Breeze, and valuable outcomes positively influenced through use of this powerful new middleware platform. Kim is the UC & Video Virtual Team Lead for North America, acting as primary liaison between the technical field community and the Avaya Business Units representing all team engagement solutions.

    Jason Montague is Senior Vice President and Director of Application Development for Baird, a fully independent and employee-owned financial services firm headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  In his role, Jason leads Baird s Software Product Development, Architecture, and Data delivery organizations.   He strives to give people opportunities to make a daily impact, feel accomplished and appreciated, and to simply use their gifts.

    Ivan Imana, CIO, Adelman Travel Group

    Ivan Imana, CIO, Adelman Travel Ivan joined Adelman Travel in 1995 as Senior Staff Accountant and was soon promoted to Financial Reporting Manager. He took over management of Adelman Travel's Technology Department in 2004, where his primary responsibilities involve finding solutions for the company to be more productive and competitive in the marketplace. In 2009, Ivan was chosen for the CIO 50 award, which honors IT executives for their ability to successfully integrate technology solutions, thereby helping increase corporate efficiencies. In 2011, Ivan received the CIO of the Year award from the Society for Information Management. Ivan holds a BS in Business from San Diego State University.

    Tom Kaczmarek, Director, Center for Cyber Security Awareness and Cyber Defense, Marquette University

    Tom Kaczmarek leads the newly created Center for Cyber Security Awareness and Cyber Defense and the MS in Computing program at Marquette University. He has a background as an executive in IT and computing with an emphasis on manufacturing. His industrial experience provides the basis for practical, professional curriculum development in areas such data analytics and cyber security at Marquette University.

    Matthew's passion is technology. He has more than 20 years of experience designing and delivering complex, technology solutions to help customers with their digital transformation journey.
