Gartner recently predicted that 65% of enterprises will be using low-code tools for IT application development within the next 5 years. So what are these low-code platforms all about?
In this session, Erik Bleifield will share his personal low-code experience and lessons learned while working for Direct Supply and FICO over the past 7 years. First, Erik oversaw the process of selection and adoption of low-code at Direct Supply, a Milwaukee company that markets to elder care facilities across the United States. And later, Erik was instrumental in implementing FICO’s Origination Manager solution, which is built on the OutSystems platform and is currently licensed by many of the top 50 financial institutions in the U.S. and Canada.

He then moved to CapGemini in Milwaukee - working with Wisconsin Electric, Strong Capital Management, among other clients. In 1998, Erik co-authored the technical book, "Programming with Visibroker" published by Wiley, which described integration in the CORBA era. Erik spent the next decade at Metavante/FIS where he led a middleware team that integrated a SaaS banking solution serving 600 banks and financial institutions throughout the US.In 2010, Erik joined Direct Supply, which provides goods and services to nursing homes across the US, and he managed the selection and adoption of the OutSystems low-code platform. In 2012, Erik attended the Society of Information Management's Regional Leaders Forum (SIM RLF) in Chicago. In 2016, Erik took a role with FICO, helping to sell and implement the FICO Origination Manager solution which is built on top of OutSystems.
