Keynote Presentation:

Developing Predictive and Prescriptive Analytics"”A Case Study
In this presentation, we will show how a Business Intelligence (BI) function can be elevated in a corporate environment to provide foresighted analytics that enable decision-makers to better position themselves vis-Ã -vis an uncertain future. Through the deployment of a suitable BI architecture, coupled with the selection of appropriate analysis tools, we provide a framework for advanced analytics. This framework not only helps to explain the operational past, but also enables analysts to predict future business outcomes. The elements of the BI architecture are introduced, and key characteristics of analysis tools are presented. Finally, a case study shows how an elevated BI function contributes to budget allocation decisions for marketing channels, and how customer retention can be improved through targeted membership outreach campaigns in a retail environment.
